Han pasado más de 4 años desde el incendio producido en Doñana y aún vemos las consecuencias de este terrible suceso. Al pasear por el bosque se ven los árboles caídos a ambos lados del camino, y los que siguen en pie solo mantienen el verde en la parte más alta de sus copas. Zonas sin vegetación, animales sin hogar y una gran mancha negra en el Parque Nacional de Doñana. La mayoría no somos conscientes de que tenemos la mayor reserva ecológica de Europa, con un ecosistema único en el mundo y, por ello, debemos cuidarla.
El incendio comenzó la noche del 24 de junio de 2017 en el paraje de Las Peñuelas, en Moguer, y se fue extendiendo con gran rapidez debido a los 42 grados de temperatura que hacía y a los vientos de más de 90 kilómetros por hora, quedando calcinadas un total de 10.340 hectáreas. Diez días después, el 4 de julio de 2017, el fuego se dio por extinguido gracias al trabajo de los 700 efectivos entre bomberos forestales del Plan Infoca, agentes de medio ambiente, la Brigada de Investigación de Incendios Forestales (BIFF) y de la Unidad Militar de Emergencia.
Dos meses después, en el informe de los técnicos de la Junta de Andalucía se detalla que la causa del incendio fue una «negligencia por descuido» de una carbonería de la zona, y que un día después del inicio del fuego desde la empresa carbonera se envió maquinaria pesada para realizar «movimientos de tierra» donde se sitúa el foco del incendio con el objetivo de borrar pistas.

More than 4 years have passed since the fire in Doñana and we still see the consequences of this terrible event. Walking through the forest you can see the fallen trees on both sides of the road and, those that are still standing, only keep the green in the highest part of their tops. Areas without vegetation, homeless animals and a large black spot in the Doñana National Park. Most of us are not aware that we have the largest ecological reserve in Europe with a unique ecosystem in the world, and that is why we must take care of it.
The fire started on the night of June 24, 2017 in the area of Las Peñuelas in Moguer and spread very quickly due to the 42 degrees of temperature and winds of more than 90 kilometers per hour, burning a total of 10,340 hectares. Ten days later, on July 4, 2017, the fire was extinguished thanks to the work of 700 personnel, including forest firefighters from Plan Infoca, environmental agents, the Forest Fire Investigation Brigade (BIFF) and the Military Emergency Unit.
Two months later, in the report of the technicians of the Junta de Andalucía it is detailed that the cause of the fire was a «careless negligence» of a coal company in the area, and that a day after the start of the fire, the coal company sent heavy machinery to make «earthworks» where the focus of the fire is located in order to erase clues.
